The Poorna Prajna Education Center, Sadashivanagar established in 1968 is run under the aegis of Udupi Sri. Admar Matt Educational Council. The founder president Sri.Vibudhesha Teertha Swamiji, Pontiff of the Admar Matt is ever a source of inspiration and guidance. The school is located in a beautiful locality with a large playground in its vicinity. It is a co-educational English medium institution run on the State Pattern. It has the necessary instructional laboratories and modern well equipped Library and Reading Room. The Center is provided with musical instruments for Orchestra.
The Object of the Center is mainly to help the pupils to grow freely in clean and healthy surroundings, developing their inherent faculties and instilling in them a sense of righteousness, discipline and duty to society and to the Mother Land thus preparing them for a good future citizenship. To maintain high standards of physical health, coaching is given in games like Hockey, Handball, Volley Ball, Basket Ball etc. under experts. PT classes including Mass PT conducted as per regular schedule. To foster a spirit of adventure, and unity there is a NCC (Air Wing) for Boys of the High School.
The Center participates in Science Exhibitions, Seminars, art and painting competitions, debates, sports and athletics conducted by public and private bodies. The Curriculum of the Department of Education of the Government of Karnataka is followed. The Center prepares students for the District Level Seventh Standard Examination and SSLC (Matriculation).
The medium of instruction is instruction is English. The Courses of instruction include English, Kannada, Hindi, and Sanskrit Languages at the School level.
Work experience is arranged for girls from V to IX standards in the sewing, knitting, embroidery, cooking and handicrafts, vocational training in electronics, electrical, fitters work, carpentry and pluming is arranged for both girls and boys in the specially equipped occasional training center of the school. Teaching of computer science is arranged in the computer center for all the students of VI to X standards, computer awareness in the play way method is given to students from grade 1 onwards. Computerized self study center has been established for students of the primary and high schools. The audio visual section is equipped with 16mm films, 35mm slides, colour TVs and VCRs, to reinforce the learning done in the class and improve oral expression.
The working day of the center commences with the assembly and prayer while the nursery section has only one session. The other sections work in two sessions. Extra curricular activities in literary clubs, science, humanities, clubs, dance and music classes, public speaking and debates are held after 4 p.m. as part of the regular schedule in the case of the midland high school sections. Computerized self study, work experience and library facilities are available even during the vacation.
